There may be multiple solutions to help close the wealth gap between White and Black Americans, but we believe that entrepreneurship provides the best opportunity to do so and at the same time, it will help build generational wealth and long-term legacy for the Black Community.
Small business owners and entrepreneurs are America’s wealth builders. When small businesses flourish, so often do their communities. This is especially true for Black-owned businesses. Black entrepreneurs are more likely to hire from the neighborhood in which their businesses are located, thus providing needed job opportunities and stabilizing communities.
However, for many Black Americans, the dream of business ownership is an elusive one. Owning your own business is a significant milestone, but it comes with tremendous challenges.

But where are the ideal and most supportive metropolitans for black entrepreneurs to start a new business or sustain an existing one? We know that “Location, location, location” is the resounding theme for a successful business. And this presentation will provide you with a solid list of cities that would serve as excellent incubators for your black-owned business, based on political support, southern dominance, historical significance and population. Based on our research, we have selected these Top 10 Cities based on the percentage of Black Owned Businesses in the city, the average number of Employees, and the average annual revenue.
