Black Birmingham Woman Who Moved To Germany With Man She Met Online Has Been Missing For 2 Years
A woman from Birmingham, Alabama was reported missing after moving to Germany with a man she met online, WBRC reports.
The family of Nicole Denise Jackson is now asking for help with the hopes they can find her alive.
Back in 2018, Jackson traveled from Birmingham to Germany. While she initially kept in contact with her family and friends, no one has heard from her in about two years, AL.com reported.
Jackson, a singer, went to Germany to pursue a career in music. She told her friends that she moved to Germany because school was free for residents and she was looking forward to the upcoming holidays. But since then, no one has heard from her.

Ella Vaughn, Jackson’s older sister, said she last communicated with her via text in 2018.
“Last time I heard her voice was around Christmas of 2018,” Vaughn recalled.
Vaughn said that the family was making plans to search for Jackson in 2019 but because of COVID-19, their travel plans were halted.
“At the end of 2019, we were trying to make decisions on what we were going to do, and then the pandemic happened,’’ she said.
Vaughn shared an email WBRC that she received from the U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Germany, advising the family to file a missing person’s report with the police in Germany. Because of the language barrier, filing a report has not been easy, Vaughn said.
After spending the last year working out of state as a traveling nurse, Vaughn began to investigate her sister’s disappearance more in-depth.
“I get back and I’m like, ‘Where’s my sister?’ Something’s not right,” she said. “I was able to dig into a lot more once I was back.”
With plans to travel to Germany, Vaughn hopes to track down the man Jackson was involved with, and finding him she believes will lead to answers about her sister’s disappearance.
“Once I get to Germany, I’m going to plaster his face everywhere. That’s where he’s from. Someone is going to recognize him,” she said. “If we can find him, we can find her or figure out what happened.”
A GoFundMe has been established to help the family with the cost of travel.
