Atlanta restaurant apologizes for denying service to NBA legend Dominique Wilkins over dress code
“In my many years in the world, I’ve eaten at some of the greatest restaurants in the world, but never have I felt prejudice or been turned away because of the color of my skin, until today in #atlanta,” Wilkins tweeted.
Wilkins spent 12 seasons with the Atlanta Hawks during his playing career, included the hashtag #turnedawaybecauseimblack in his tweet.
Replying to followers on Twitter, Wilkins indicated that he was told by employees at the restaurant that there were no tables available. However, he said he was later told that he wasn’t dressed to the restaurant’s standards.
