Actor Terry Crews Talks About His Mother Checking to See If He Had Entered Puberty Growing Up
Terry Crews may have a strong physical appearance, but the actor says he has complicated by insecurities. Growing up in a home where Crews saw abuse and with believing that strength and an stoic demeanor equated to masculinity has had an lasting effective on the actor. The 53-year-old speaks about some of this in his memoir, “Tough: My Journey to True Power.”
One of those experience that changed him forever, included an incident with his mom that took place when Crews was entering into manhood.
“It was one of those things where I knew I had to get stronger because one day I thought I’d have to fight him. That’s how it started out,” he said. “I always, always had been like, ‘Be fit, be ready, be prepared, be there.’ ”
