(BPRW) It’s Bigger Than Us Brings 7th Annual “Back 2 School” to Little Haiti
Free community celebration delivers backpacks, school supplies, toys, diapers, and wellness resources to 500+ Miami families on Sunday, July 26, 2026
(Black PR Wire) It’s Bigger Than Us (IBTU) is joining forces with Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), Baby2Baby, and City of Miami Commissioner Christine King to bring their Annual “Back 2 School” celebration to Little Haiti. This free event serves to unite partners and neighbors to send 500+ students into the new school year with backpacks, supplies, care, and much more.
The free event takes place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. It is open to all families and community members, with no cost to attend, but registration is required.
Building on last year’s inaugural Miami edition, the 2026 event will distribute 500+ backpacks and school supplies, 500+ LEGO toys, 500+ electric toothbrushes, 500+ packs of wipes, 500+ deodorants, and 50,000 diapers. Families can also access on-site health screenings and wellness resources, browse local vendor booths, and enter raffles and giveaways throughout the afternoon.
The celebration will be hosted by Jefferson Noël — Professor, Global Speaker, 5x Author and Founder of Barbershop Speaks — a proud voice for Miami’s Haitian community. In addition, there will music, a celebratory atmosphere, and much more.
For IBTU, the day is about more than supplies. “Community is the infrastructure,” and the organization’s approach is to meet families where they already are, with dignity at the center.

This year’s event is made possible alongside Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), Baby2Baby, Commissioner Christine King of the Miami City Commission (District 5) — an IBTU partner since 2024 — and Orange Barrel Media with its IKE Smart City network, which is carrying the event’s message across digital kiosks throughout Miami. Their support brings backpacks, diapers, wellness resources, and citywide visibility to Miami families.
