Coco Gauff Triumphs Over Leylah Fernandez At Atlanta Open Exhibition

Giving it their all, Gauff and Fernandez battled on the court while having fun. The young women spoke with audience members, and Guaff broke into a small dance number, showing off her ATL swag.
“They made me the person who I am a hundred percent,” Gauff told reporters after the match. “Moving from Atlanta to South Florida was a big change. I love the culture here the city, and being a Black woman in tennis, having the support from all the people in Atlanta means a lot to me. Truly.”
Gauff is giving back to her hometown. She has teamed up with Storm Reid to revitalize a public park. Reid is also an Atlanta native. They plan to invest in renovating Brownwood Park‘s sports facilities. Gauff’s assistance will offer the park a second chance.
