(BPRW) 1261 Film Festival Announces its 5th Season in Grenada: Celebrating Diversity, Creativity, and Cultural Richness!

(Black PR Wire) We’re excited to announce that the highly anticipated international 12°N, 61°W Film Festival, a.k.a. 1261 Film Festival, is returning to Grenada for its fifth year from October 26th to October 29th, 2023!  Produced by Mprojekts Creative Group, this four-day event will showcase the best local and global storytelling through film.

#1261FilmFestival23 will bring together filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts to celebrate cinema, culture, and community to experience the power of storytelling on the big screen. With a focus on highlighting diverse and underrepresented voices, the festival promises to deliver an unforgettable experience that honors Grenada’s vibrant artistic community and fosters meaningful connections between filmmakers and audiences alike.

Filmmakers and content creators hailing from Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique are particularly encouraged to submit their films for consideration. – states Meschida Philip, Festival Director

Filmmakers, whether emerging or seasoned, are invited to submit their works for consideration to the festival, which accepts a wide range of genres, including short and feature-length documentaries, fiction, animation, children’s movies, LGBTQ movies, and music videos. The festival aims to showcase stories that center on the cultures and experiences of Grenada, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora.

Interested filmmakers have until June 30th, 2023, to submit their entries for the 1261 Film Festival through FilmFreeway. However, late submissions will also be accepted until July 31st, 2023, through the same platform, simply follow this link: filmfreeway.com/1261filmfestival.
