Fans Bash Deshaun Watson In His First Game Back: ‘You Sick F**K’
According to Yahoo Sports, Watson issued an apology when he was interviewed during a pregame show on Friday. Addressing those he allegedly assaulted when he was playing for the Houston Texans, the quarterback said “I’m truly sorry to all of the women that I have impacted in this situation.”
“The decisions that I made in my life that put me in this position, I would definitely like to have back, but I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character and I’m going to keep pushing forward,” he said.
Former federal judge Sue L. Robinson has already ordered Watson to serve a six-game suspension, starting in the regular season. The NFL, however, has appealed the ruling, seeking a season-long suspension or a shorter suspension with a significant fine.
Watson and his defense team say the quarterback only had consensual encounters with the dozens of massage therapists who have brought sexual assault accusations against him.
