A 9-year-old white boy was recorded on video approaching his Black neighbor’s home on May 13th with a whip and hitting and slinging it in front of the home TMZ reported. The video shows the boy hitting on the door three times. Then he hits the door with the whip twice and stands back. Someone answers the door and said,  “Little boy, you better get your a– from off my porch, beating on my door like this. I will call the police. You need to leave. Don’t you ever beat on my God—- door like that. Go!” The boy then turns around and walks away according to NBC 5.

The incident happened in Forney, Texas last week and ended with the boy’s father, Bryan Thomas Brunson, being arrested for deadly conduct for recklessly discharging of a firearm. The news station talked to the family about why they wanted the public to see the video of the incident.

“We want to get this out there to let people know ‘hey this stuff is still real.’ You’ve just seen what happened in Buffalo, New York,” father Dezerrea Nash said. “This can escalate very quickly. So we want to avoid that and get this story out there and let them know racism is real and we feel that it was definitely racially motivated.”

The family said when the child left their home he scratched their car and they called the police. An officer with the Kaufman County constable’s office responded and talked to Brunson about the boy’s actions, however, no incident report was made and there were no charges filed.

The conflict began when the white boy had a disagreement with the Nash’s 9-year-old daughter and wanted to fix the situation with a whip.

Brunson reportedly attempted to fire his gun at the Nashes but handled it recklessly, causing a bullet to graze his daughter, according to the sheriff’s office.

Carissa shares the encounter on her Instagram page with a caption that reads, “This kid comes to my door with a whip looking for my 9 year old daughter, then puts a big ass scratch on our Audi.
