NJ man sentenced to over 300 years, for killing two children and woman over a Facebook post
A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 375 years in prison for the 2016 murders of a woman and two children because of a comment posted on Facebook. Last week, Jeremy Arrington, 32, was sentenced for the murder of Ariel Little Whitehurst, 7, Al-Jahon Whitehurst, 11, and Syasia McBurroughs, 23, NJ.com reported. Arrington stabbed the two children over dozen times and fatally shot McBurroughs in the head.
The incident took place on Nov. 5, 2016, Arrington tied up seven people in a Newark apartment. He would tortured and mutilated the three. Arrington went to the home after one of the stabbing victims posted on social media, police were looking for Arrington in relation to a sex crime.
Out of anger Arrington sought out the person made the comment and entered the home in the afternoon where tied up seven people. He would tortured them with kitchen knives.
Essex County Deputy Assistant Prosecutor Justin Edwab said Arrington’s crime was “pure evil, saying the angry man treated the apartment like an “amusement park” of torture.
Three other victims—Ariel and Al-Jahon’s 29-year-old mother and a set of 13-year-old twins were also all stabbed but survived the attack. A girl who managed to escape the assault and called the police who helped save the other victims. Judge Ronald Rigler stated Arrington created “a house of horrors” that was one of the worst murder cases in Essex County history, NBC New York reported.
Arrington was convicted on 28 charges, including three counts of murder, attempted murder, burglary, criminal restraint, and weapons offenses. The judge sentenced three 75-year sentences for the murders and three 50-year sentences for the attempted murder charges.
