Video Shows Police In Suburb Allowing K-9 Bite a Black Man Multiple Times
An investigation has started after a cellphone video showed how three white Missouri officers allowed a police dog to attack a Black man during an arrest. The incident took place on Sept. 20, when law enforcement in the St. Louis suburb of Woodson Terrace responded to a call of an alleged break-in of business according to FOX 2.
In approx. three-minute clip was recorded by an unidentified witness, the man could be seen with his hands on the hood of an unmarked police car as two officers restrained him. One police officer soon approaches with his dog barking. The suspect could be heard yelling as the officer held the dog close by.
The initial two officers step back as another officer releases the dog and allows it to bite the man’s foot. The attack takes place for a few seconds before one of the officers tries to grab the man from behind. However, the dog pulls the man by his foot away from the first two officers.
Another attempt to arrest the man again as the dog still bites on to the his foot. He tries to flee, however, the handler releases the dog and he is bitten again. Witness in the background seem shocked.
The man fell to the ground and arresting officers let the dog bite high for a few more seconds before officers finally arrest him.
