Diddy Suggests Black People To Invest in Home Ownership Not Jewelry and Cars
P. Diddy recently gave some financial advice to the Black community has been receiving mix reviews. The 51-year-old mogul went on Instagram to advise Black people on investing.
Diddy criticized people for spending money on jewelry like a Richard Mille watch, which cost up $2 million. He says although he likes the finer things in life, he cautions people buying the costly watch are being “tricked.”
“I’m not a hater I’m a connoisseur of fly s–t and I’m just telling y’all getting tricked by the Richard Mille.”
Diddy says the watch isn’t worth it and compared it to the Timex watch, which can be as low as $20.
“Richard Mille is like a Timex or some s–t like that. You understand what I’m saying. Y’all it’s not hot. It’s not hot. It’s not hot. I have two or three. I never pull them out, they ugly. I don’t even want to hate. I don’t even know Richard Mille but f–k it I’m on some Black s–t. Black man save your money and go buy a house.”
Diddy received some backlash for making the remarks. Some critics even pointed out he owns the watch he told people not to buy, he got back on Instagram to respond.
“Everybody pipe down it’s my opinion. I love fly s–t that’s my opinion” he said.
Diddy then stood on his point by comparing two different luxury cars: Rolls-Royce Phantom and Bentley Mulsanne. “Get some property Black man and woman. Let’s go. We know what to do. I tricked but I got some property.”
The video also received some praise by people who respected Diddy for explaining finance and investments.
